Fountain of Neptune
The octagonal Neptune Fountain, which was built in the sixteenth century AD, mediates Piazza della Signoria, located directly in front of the Florence City Council, and is one of the attractive symbols of the city. Designed by Italian sculptor Baccio Bandinelli, this fountain is made of bronze and marble to represent the god of the sea and to symbolize union and strength.
