Gayret Gemi Museum

The warship built by the United States on May 10, 1946 was named "Iverson Ship", and in 1973, it was transferred to the Turkish Naval Command and named "Gearet Ship", and it has accomplished many war missions for more than 20 years. It was left out of service in 1995 according to the concepts of a modern museum with the joint projects of the Kocaeli Governor and the Naval Command within the scope of the “Ship Museum Project” and started its new function as a museum in 1997 on the coast of Izmit.
