Gunung Kawi Temple
One of the oldest monuments in Bali, Gunung Kawi is famous for its ten seven-meter-high stone-carved shrines, an archaeological site of Buddhist and Hindu religious rituals dating back to the eleventh century. It has a wonderful location on a cliff face in the northeast of Ubud, and to reach the temple you have to go down into the valley and cross beautiful rice fields.
