Harrach Palace

This magnificent palace has had a long and interesting history, and although it is no longer used as a palace, it is easy to imagine the grandeur the building once possessed. Now it is home to high-end shops and offices that are some of the best in Vienna. The first palace was built on this site in 1435, and then in the early 17th century the house was bought by Karl Harrach. Unfortunately, most of the original palace was destroyed by fire in 1683, and the current building was constructed with an architectural design by Domenico Martinelli. The famous musician Mozart and his sister gave some performances at the palace in 1762 when they were children.
