Description of the place
Housed in a building over 100 years old, the Haynes Library is named after Governor William Frederick Haynes Smith, who ordered the construction of the first batch of government buildings on Eleuthera in 1897. The library includes a room for children's books and an extensive section with books on The Bahamas and the Caribbean has a large reference library. The library also provides its customers with free internet service.
