Kremlin

Veliky Novgorod Castle or the Kremlin is one of the most beautiful historical buildings in the city, and the area on which it was built was previously the site of a pagan cemetery, and the city's first bishop, when appointed in the year 989, turned it into a cathedral and center of Christian rule. Through the ages many fortifications were added to the main building and it eventually became one of the most beautiful castles in the country.
