The Kashaz Palace was built in the thirteenth century, and it was home to many noble families such as the great Hochberg family, and between 1509 and 1941, this family expanded the palace and contributed greatly to its wonderful design that we see today, and during World War II, the occupying German forces seized the palace Many of the historic rooms were destroyed, and after systematic looting by the German occupiers and later by the Red Army, in 1952 renovation work was undertaken to restore the palace to its former grandeur. Today, visitors can enjoy the grandeur of the many rooms, terraces and surrounding gardens.
