Description of the place
La Valenciana Church is one of the major tourist attractions in Guanajuato. It was built between 1765 and 1788. It is located on a hill overlooking the city. It has a pink volcanic stone facade decorated with intricate carvings. The interior of the 18th-century Mexican church resembles a Latin cross bearing three towering Baroque pediments covered in gold leaf with striking detail and religious paintings.
