Temple and former convent of San Miguel Arcángel
The San Miguel Arcangel Temple and Monastery was built between 1550 AD and 1560 AD in the city of Hidalgo, and it belongs to a group of buildings built by the Augustinians in the sixteenth century, which are similar in design to castles. Inside the temple, you can see a mural that shows a struggle between indigenous people and a meeting between indigenous and European culture. Various interpretations have been given of this famous mural, from the struggle between good and evil to a representation of the Chichimeca War. Catholic religious rituals are held in this temple, and it is considered a destination for many tourists who are passionate about traditional architecture.
