Description of the place
Las Coloradas is a magical and colorful place hidden away at the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. It consists of a group of stunning pink lakes filled with salt that resemble cotton candy. The area forms part of the Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserve; It is a protected wetland area and home to animals such as flamingos, crocodiles, sea turtles, jaguars and all kinds of seabirds.
