Description of the place
Lichtennik Castle is the ruins of the Spor Castle and is located at an altitude of 242 meters above sea level. The castle was probably built between 1265 and 1272 by the Counts of Freiburg. The castle was destroyed in the Geroldsijk War of 1433, rebuilt in the 16th century and finally destroyed on April 15, 1675 in the Dutch War by French forces under General Nicolas de Bautru.
