Manto Mavrogenous Statue

In honor of the great lady of Mykonos, Manto Mavrogenous, a statue has been erected to her in the central square that bears her name, in order to remind locals and visitors of her invaluable contribution to the history of her country, as she is considered a symbol of heroism during the Greek War of Independence, as this wealthy woman donated everything Her fortune was for the liberation of Greeks from Ottoman rule, and under her encouragement, her European friends contributed money and guns to the revolution.
