Description of the place
The Martinstor Gate is located near the river, and is part of the fortifications and the southern line of defense of the town. It was also used to stop ships and ensure that tolls were paid. It is a wonderful shrine that still retains its medieval features, in addition to serving as the entrance to the magnificent Cochem Castle.
