Description of the place
This mosque was built in 1786 in Kos, directly across from the Tree of Hippocrates, on the site of a former Byzantine church, by the admiral of the Ottoman fleet, Hasan Pasha. Materials taken from the old town were used to build it. It features 61 windows in the Mauritanian style, as well as the magnificent red domes and a prayer hall on the first floor.
