Museo Diocesano - Amalfi

The Diocesan Museum is an art museum in Amalfi located in the Basilica of the Cross in Amalfi which is the original cathedral church, dating back to the year 596. In 1100, a new cathedral was built next to it and together they formed one Romanesque-style church with six aisles. Later, in the Baroque period, it was covered with marble and stucco and restored as two separate and distinct churches. This museum displays the treasures of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Amalfi, Cava dei Terreni.
