Museo Lazaro Galdiano
It is a museum that houses the art collection of José Lázaro Galdiano. The imposing building was built in 1903 as the residence of the artist and his wife, and is set within the grounds of a library housing a collection of important manuscripts. It has its original interiors, which feature elaborate ornate Baroque ceilings, and in addition to the artist's art collection, the museum contains important collections of valuable works from the prehistoric period to the 19th century, with an emphasis on Iberian work. The exhibits include the main categories such as jewelry, small bronzes, ecclesiastical and interior silver, ceramics, carved ivory, and coins. These collections come not only from Spain but also from the main centers of medieval art, including Limoges and Egypt.
