Description of the place
Designed by architect Paulo David, the Madeira Museum of Contemporary Art features a modern building that won an international award for its architecture and perfect integration into the landscape. It is home to many exhibitions, musical performances, plays and conferences. It is located on a hill overlooking the village of Calheta on West side of Madeira Island, featuring around 400 pieces of art from the 1960s to the present.
