Neuer Platz
Neuer Platz or the town square was known by different names during the time, as it was called Franz Josef Platz, Wolfsplatz, and Adolf-Hitler-Platz. It is the square directly in front of the city hall in the center of Klagenfurt, and it was redesigned in 2008 according to plans drawn up by the famous architect Boris Podricka, turning it into a modern city square that attracts many local visitors and tourists. At its heart lies a distinctive statue, a dragon-like creature and the emblem of Klagenfurt, as well as a statue of Hercules. To the eastern side, there is a monument to Maria Theresia. Visit this square and enjoy the perfect outdoor time and the historical atmosphere.
