Name of the place
Palazzo degli Anziani
Palazzo degli Anziani
It is a central square in the city of Ancona dating back to the year 425 AD. It was built by order of the Roman Empress Galla Placidia, daughter of the Roman Emperor Theodosius I. The square was built in the Roman-Gothic style at the beginning, but it underwent some modifications and differences, and other architectural elements were added to it later. The clock is surrounded by a group of ancient buildings such as palaces and churches, most of which date back to the Middle Ages, including the Government Palace, as well as the remains of an old tower designed in the Byzantine style of architecture.
