Pallipuram Fort in Kochi is the oldest European fort in India. It was built by the Portuguese in 1503. Many civilizations and colonies passed through it. The Dutch seized it in 1661 and sold it to the British colonists in 1789. The fort is located in the far north of Vibin Island in Kochi, which is hexagonal in shape and has a very wide area. Visitors come to it to learn about its history, because it was a witness to several colonies that passed over India.
