Panagia Chrysopolitissa Church
Part of the World Heritage Site is the Chrysopolitissa Church, which was built in the second half of the 4th century AD and was one of the largest churches on the island. It was destroyed by the invaders but there is still much to see in the remaining ruins. High walkways were built over the excavation sites. It is in the original basilica, allowing you to look down and see some of the wonderful mosaic floors that have been preserved, and you will also be able to get a sense of the size of the church that would have dominated this part of the city.
