The Bastet Museum in Hidalgo was established as the first unique restaurant dedicated only to presenting and displaying traditional food items for people who love food and gourmet. The museum seeks to spread and promote the gastronomic heritage made from "pasté", in Arabic "pancake", a food of British origin brought to Hidalgo by the engineers and contractors from Cornwall, England who worked the mines in the 19th century. The museum includes an audio-visual room, in which a documentary film is shown showing the different stages of mining in the region and how they affected the art of cooking using dough, in addition to a historical room where there are photographs, mining tools and rhetorical heritage, and there is also a traditional kitchen room where various traditional foods are displayed .
