Pool of the Arches

ground water complex built at the time of the Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid, specifically in the year 798 AD. It has an amazing architecture, with a size of approximately 400 meters and dotted with beautiful pointed arches. This pond was used until the end of the eleventh century, as its solid architecture withstood the devastating earthquakes that shook the country through the ages. Now it is not used, but it has been converted into a tourist site, as there are small boats inside the pond for visitors to take a tour of the place.
