Description of the place
The Rayo Palace was built during the reign of King João V, and was designed by André Soares for José Duarte de Faria. It is a wonderful example of Baroque civil architecture. In terms of designs and decoration, the palace includes a covered facade. With blue tiles, exquisite balustrades decorated with flame effects and amphorae, wrought-iron and granite balconies, the imposing interior staircase is also noteworthy.
