Ringer Fountain

The Bell-Ringer Fountain was built by Braunschweig sculptor Professor Jürgen Weber in 1975. Standing on a cobbled dome surrounded by a small moat, the bronze statue depicts two figures grappling, one of whom lifts his counterpart into the air, thus depriving him of the strength to attack. The idea can also be understood in a metaphorical sense as a struggle between the artist and his critics, as the artist pulls the ground from under his critics and does not allow them to influence him.
