Rotunda St. John Baptist Church

stunning church on the island of Gozo that was built in the early 20th century when the townspeople expressed their need for a bigger church in the city. It was built of Maltese limestone in the late Gothic style. It is a very large church with an inner dome diameter of 27 meters and a dome height of 75 metres. It is the third highest unsupported dome in the world. The church was built on the ruins of an old church, and the antiquities were collected from that church and placed in a small museum below the modern church called the "Sculpture Museum".
