Saint James' Charterhouse
This monastery is considered one of the most famous archaeological monuments in the city of Capri, and its historical importance is due to the many transformations that have taken place in it throughout the ages since its construction in 1371. It was used as a hospital, a military barracks, a prison, a residence for the army, and others. The monastery has now turned into a prominent tourist destination due to the group of wall paintings that were revealed in the ceilings, which date back to the fourteenth century, in addition to the fact that the monastery is located in a picturesque natural area surrounded by green spaces and rocky hills from various sides. It also offers a charming view of the sea from above.
