Saint Michael's Church

Saint Michael's Church is located a few hundred meters from the center of Leuven.This church was built between 1650 and 1666 with white sandstone and ironstone. The façade looks like an altar with its Ionic columns and friezes decorated with angels, grapevines, and ears of corn. The church was almost completely destroyed in 1944, only the façade miraculously survived, and the reconstruction of the church was completed in 1950. This church is well worth a visit and its stunning façade.
