Sanctuary of the Madonna d'Ongero

The church of Madonna di Unjero is located in the south of Lugano, in the middle of a forest full of tall trees. The building was built in the seventeenth century and is filled from the inside with stucco details on the walls and in the vault, executed by Alessandro Casella, a very active artist and famous especially in Italy, as there are many other works of art belonging to other artists, including Giuseppe Antonio Petrini.
