Schwerin Cathedral is an Evangelical-Lutheran cathedral located in the German city of Schwerin, and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Baptist. The church is one of the oldest great examples of Gothic architecture in Germany, as the cathedral was built initially of wood, after which the church was restored and renovated and built of brick as the foundation stone of the stone cathedral was laid in 1172, and the construction of the nave was completed during XIV century and the construction of the monastery was completed at the end of the XV century.
