Description of the place
The huge Greek Orthodox Stavrovoni Monastery is named after the hill on which it is located (750 meters above sea level), and was founded by Saint Helena between the years 327-329 AD, which means that it is one of the oldest monasteries in the world. It is one of the few religious places where part of the Holy Cross can be seen and where women are not allowed to enter.
