The Church of the Panagia Rhodes

This ancient church - which was built in 1300 - is one of the sites that you must visit, as it will captivate you with its charm as soon as you see it, as it is surrounded by magnificent and majestic high walls. One of its most prominent external features is the towering stone bell, which is typical of the Dodecanese churches. The building was designed in the shape of a cross with an octagonal dome, whitewashed walls, and a roof of red Byzantine tiles. Inside the church, there is a wonderful pebble mosaic floor, ornate wooden icons, in addition to the bishop's throne, while it is topped by large bronze candle chandeliers. There are also 19th-century frescoes depicting biblical scenes.
