The Emerald Grotto

The Smeraldo Grotto, also known as the "Emerald Grotto", is named after the distinctive green light inside the cave, which is caused by the entry of natural sunlight from the outside through an underground passage that connects the salt water lake in the huge grotto to the sea, where the water filters sunlight and reaches green wavelengths. Only to the cave, and therefore it has become a unique tourist attraction for visitors to witness this amazing phenomenon.
