This palace is a distinctive and important part of the largest archaeological site of the Bronze Age on the island of Crete. The Palace of Knossos is considered one of the largest and most magnificent centers of luxury, covering an area of 20,000 square meters. The palace had many floors, was built of ashlar blocks and its walls were decorated with exquisite frescoes mostly representing religious ceremonies. There are palace ruins which are the cultural heart of Greek mythology. It is really a beautiful archaeological place, an important tourist attraction and worth a visit.
