The Throne of Charlemagne is the throne built by Charlemagne in the 90s of the eighth century as one of the fixtures of the luxurious Aachen Cathedral. Until 1531, it served as the coronation throne for the kings of Germany, and it was used in the coronation of more than thirty kings. This marble throne can be seen on a tour accompanied by Guided only. Likewise, only visitors taking a guided tour can enter the choir area of Aachen Cathedral for a close-up view of the stunning mausoleum of Charlemagne.
