Hamburg City Hall is the seat of the local government in Hamburg, which means it is the seat of one of Germany's 16 parliaments. It is located in the Altstadt neighborhood in the city center near the Rathaus Market square. It was built between 1886-1897, after the old city hall was destroyed in a fire in 1842 AD, and it took about 44 years to build a new hall. Its design is in the Renaissance style, and tourists can take tours inside the building to learn about it and the history of the city and parliament.
