Vatican Museums
The Vatican Museums - specialized in displaying classic artworks - were established when the Vatican bought a marble sculpture called "Laocoon and His Sons" from a vineyard owner in the fifteenth century AD. The statue still exists to this day along with other art collections, including the collection of modern religious art such as the works of Carlo Carra and Giorgio de Creco, in addition to the famous Sistina mural. The Vatican Museums are included in the list of the most important museums in the world, and their visit represents an essential stage for those who visit this ancient city.
