Wat Chong Kam was built in 1827 by the ruler of Mae Hong Son and his wife, and it was the first temple built in the province, and it was upgraded to a royal temple in 1984. The temple was constructed with traditional Thai art. The main hall in the temple includes a large statue of Buddha with a width of 4.85 It was built by Burmese craftsmen, and there is also a small museum displaying wood carvings that were carved by Burmese craftsmen more than 150 years ago.
