Whaling Industry Museum
The Museum of Whaling Craft is located in the building of the former whaling boat factory in which by-products were made from caught whales. This factory operated from 1946 to 1984 when whaling was one of the main activities of the Azores archipelago. Official international recognition as one of the best industrial museums of its kind. A collection of boilers, furnaces, machines and many other equipment used to convert whales into oil and flour.
