Zakynthos' Museum

Zakynthos lost many of its churches and buildings due to a strong earthquake that hit the island in 1953 and left some of its most important churches destroyed, which created the need to transfer church holdings from religious paintings that embody the lives of Christian saints, precious church icons, artistic murals, and other church property to a new building to preserve On it and thus the Museum of Zakynthos was founded, hence its importance.
