Archaeological Museum of Thera
Archaeological Museum of Thera
This wonderful archaeological museum in Thira Santorini was built on the ruins of a very old museum that was destroyed in 1956 following a massive earthquake that struck the island. This museum tells the history of the island in a detailed way, as there are thousands of artifacts from different eras, the oldest of which dates back to the year 3000 BC. You will be accompanied on your tour of the museum by a guide who will answer all your inquiries. This museum can be accessed in two ways, the first of which is to climb the mountain on foot accompanied by a group, or to ride cars and hill freek, which is the method chosen by most visitors coming to the museum.
