Ardastra Gardens Wildlife Conservation Centre
Located in the heart of the city, this stunning garden extends over an area of 4 acres and is covered in lush tropical forests. It is home to many species of protected animals such as flamingos, parrots, peacocks, ducks and many more. This garden was designed by the Jamaican horticulturist Hedley Edwards in 1937, and he was keen at that time to give it a comfortable and relaxing feel to it, away from the noise of recreational places and resorts in the Bahamas, and he succeeded in that, as the place gives a feeling of tranquility upon entering it.
