Canals of Amsterdam

The center of Amsterdam is surrounded by four 17th-century canals and is a system now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The municipality of Amsterdam has built these waterways in order to enhance the movement of water in the city and encourage maritime trade. Hundreds of Dutch townhouses line these canals, many dating back to the Renaissance period. There are also many restaurants and cafes around this place, you can spend an entire day walking around these picturesque areas and contemplating the impressive Dutch architecture.
