Dongnaeeupseong Fortress Site
Dongnaeobseong Fortress is located in the Dongnae district of the urban city of Busan. It was built to protect the city from invasions. Its construction began at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty. Historical records show that its wall was restored in 1021, the twelfth year of the reign of King Heungjong ( Hyeonjong) from Goryeo Dynasty. The castle was restored and expanded in 1713 to expand its perimeter to 5240 meters. It had four gates. A wing of the fortress was built on the south gate, and small fortifications were erected on the other three gates. At present, there are some structures that have been restored. Inside the wall, including the north gate with the fortification at the top and a small fortified wall surrounding the gate.
