Gyeonghoyeong Palace is one of the Five Great Palaces of Seoul. It was also called Seoguel (meaning "Western Palace") because it is located west of the main palace, Gyeongbokgung. The palace was part of a vast complex of 100 buildings in total, but most of them were destroyed during the The Japanese occupation, and after extensive restoration work, it was reopened to the public in 2002, and on its grounds stand the Seoul Museum of History and the Gyeonghoyeong Annex Building of the Seoul Museum of Art, in which a variety of Korean art can be viewed.
