Ebbingen Abbey is a community of Benedictine nuns in the city of Rudesheim am Rhein. The monastery was established in the year 1165 by the monk, philosopher and writer Hildegard. The monastery continued its work for more than 8 centuries and then it was stopped in the year 1804, but it returned to work again in the year 1904 After the city's municipality restored the buildings and added new ones. The nuns produce handicrafts and sell them in local markets, and they can often be heard singing Bible hymns. This stunning monastery is a protected World Heritage Site.
