Fortress and Convent of Insua
The Ansua Castle and Monastery are located opposite the famous Moledo Beach, and are surrounded by the sea on all sides. They have been classified as a national monument since 1910. The history of the monastery dates back to the fourteenth century, while the castle dates back to the seventeenth century from the reign of João IV. Its plan is an irregular star with five bastions, and it houses the Franciscan convent, which was expanded in 1676.
