Gangwa Anglican Cathedral is the cathedral of the Diocese of the Anglican Church in Seoul. Opened on November 15, 1900, it is the first hanok-style cathedral in Korea, as well as the first cathedral in Gangwado Island. It was established by the first bishop of the Anglican Church in Korea, Charles John Corfe, in memory of the Koreans who were baptized in 1896 on Gangwado Island for the first time. The cathedral is the oldest Anglican church in Korea, where Kim Heejun was painted; The first Korean Anglican priest whose ordination was approved in 1915.
