Description of the place
The small hermitage of the Virgen del Pino is located in the upper part of El Paso and next to an old royal road and was opened in 1930. It was built according to legends when the image of the Virgin appeared on the giant Canarian pine tree that stands in the Plaza de la Ermita, and this tree is the largest in the Canary Islands Recent studies estimate its age at about 600-800 years.
