Honam Jeilmun Gate

Honam Gilmun Gate was the place of the tax collector and one of the main fortifications in Jeonju. It is the only remaining gate out of the 5 gates that looped around the city. These gates were established in the 16th century during the Tenth Dynasty. With the expansion of the city through the ages, the Honam Gilmun Gate became located in the heart of Jeonju, surrounded by residential and historical buildings. The gate is distinguished by its unique architecture in the traditional Korean style, so do not miss the opportunity to visit it!
